Fifth Avenida

The Fifth Avenida is the principal street in Playa del Carmen. It is a pedestrian zone and a very common reference point, in this place you will find the majority of the hotels, restaurants, bars and stores. The north area is absolutely beautiful, there are great open restaurants, the majority with reasonable prices and excellent eaten in a large variety of environments; from exclusive boutiques and bars with European style, until small stores of Mexican craftsmanship with very original food. The street continues with blocks of houses and blocks of houses, you will find hundred of stores selling everything you may imagine. Without a doubt, this is one of the principal attractions of Playa del Carmen.


There are several cenotes for all zone of the Yucatán's Peninsula, in this wonderful natural area, the cenotes (name in Mayan language for the wells) are incredibly mysterious and also convenient to practice swimming and diving in its crystalline waters. This is another very interesting attraction in Playa of the Carmen.


This amazing archeological place was built between two lakes and over 80 kilometers squared of edifications and ruins; its principal pyramid is the tallest of the entire peninsula with 42 meters of height and a spectacular vista to the tropical jungle.


Xel-Ha is considered the biggest natural aquarium around the world, with an enormous estuary, this place is a perfect scene for hundred of tropical fishes; also, is known by its ruins and its great amazing cenotes and caverns.

Sian Ka'an's Biosphere

In the southern extreme, the visitors can find The Natural reserve of Sian Ka'an's Biosphere, also known as “the place where begins the sky”. It is a natural area with 530.000 hectares conformed by tropical jungle, lakes, swamps, bays, wells and reefs; and this place is home of several animal like jaguars and pumas, deer, crocodiles, monkeys and approximately 345 amazing kind of birds. On a daily basis, there are available excursions of three hours trip in boat.
