Getting Valladolid

Arrival and Leaving Valladolid

There are two near cities, Cancun and Playa del Carmen, depending where is your location, you can take the correct way.

From Cancun, if you want to travel by bus, It takes around 3 to 4 hours to get there and you have to take the bus to Valladolid at the bus station, the schedule is very accessible and daily, you can take the first at 5 AM, the next ones at 6, 9, 11, 11:30 AM and at 2:30, 3, 4:30, 5:30 and 10:30 PM. If you are traveling by bus, take the road that leads to Merida. Head at the end of Tulum Avenue, and turn left on Portillo Avenue. From Cancun there are two roads, one toll free and a second one that is expensive. The toll main road is faster since you avoid passing through many villages and towns.

From Playa del Carmen, if you plan to travel by bus, It takes around 3 to 4 hours to get there. Each day, you can take the 10:15 bus to Valladolid. There is also some other second-class bus services to Valladolid that are not very habitual. If you want to discover the place by car, you can head south from the federal road in the route to Tulum, previous to entering Tulum town, you turn right in the route to Coba. The road is well signed and there is no way to become disoriented. There will all the time be signs pointing to either Valladolid or Chichen Itza. The road passes through Valladolid, and it continues to Chichen Itza and Merida. In the way you will find several towns and villages and will have to pass through them.
